AMS Project Engineer (Global Manufacturing)

Apollo Tyres is a tyre manufacturer with Indian roots. It’s an ambitious and growing company, with factories in India and Europe (Netherlands and Hungary) and sales offices all over the world. Furthermore they have R&D Centers in Enschede (with subsidiary in Frankfurt) and Chennai, where people work on the development of new passenger car tyres for the brands Apollo and Vredestein.
The Global Manufacturing Department is Apollo's center of manufacturing excellence. The department is responsible for improving and implementing new manufacturing standards across all Apollo plants.

The Apollo Manufacturing System (AMS) is the Constitution of the Manufacturing team across the globe. It is the repository of their combined knowledge base and hosts their best practices for all manufacturing functions including manufacturing technology, project management and plant engineering and targets to drive continuous improvement in these areas and hence operational performance of all Manufacturing locations.
The AMS activities currently focus on:
1) completing the content
2) driving implementation across the plants of existing content and initiating implementation of new content
3) driving a continuous improvement culture
This role will focus on activity 2: driving implementation of best practices and continuous improvement culture through necessary projects in the plants. This also includes follow-up of and reporting on these projects, and communications around these through the IT platform and through newsletters.
Support in the other two areas might be requested as well.
Bachelor/Master degree in Industrial Engineering or similar.
1-3 years of work experience.
Excellent communication and presentation skills, verbal and written.
Excellent English language skills.
Interpersonal skills: ability to build good relationships with key stakeholders across cultures.
Knowledge of Project Management (e.g. by PMI or Lean project management training).
Willingness to travel.
Not required but preferred: Lean training (e.g. Green Belt); Visual Basic skills; project management experience.
